Daniel McKenzie, M.D.

Dr. Daniel McKenzie obtained his medical degree from the University of Southern California in 1997. He completed his residency at LA County USC Medical Center. He has worked closely with some of the most experienced dermatologists and dermatology surgeons in the nation. Dr. McKenzie practices with a vast knowledge base and an innovative approach to each patient’s care.

Dr. Michelle Algarin

Dr. Michelle Algarin is a Board Certified Dermatologist and Dermatologic Surgeon specializing in skin cancer treatment. She received advanced fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, a technique used to remove skin cancers. After her training, Dr. Algarin taught at UC Davis, as Director of Mohs Surgery. She has been in private practice in Laguna Hills since 2003.

Dr. Jennifer Channual, MD

Dr. Jennifer Channual, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She has extensive experience in treating patients of all ages. Dr. Channual practiced in Newport Beach for several years before opening up her practice in Laguna Hills. 

Dr. Jennifer Channual obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine, majoring in Neurobiology, including her medical degree at the University of California, Irvine. She completed an internship at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles and returned to Irvine to complete her Dermatology residency at UCI.  She is currently a member of the American Medical Association, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a member of the American Academy of Dermatologic Surgery. 

Dr. Michael Mortazie, D.O.

Dr. Michael Mortazie is a fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon, specializing in surgical dermatology. He completed his dermatology training at Michigan State University, after he completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology in Santa Monica, CA, under the direction of one of the world’s experts in dermatological surgery. Dr. Mortazie has served on the American Academy of Dermatology’s Learning Resources Committee. He has published numerous articles on skin cancer and facial reconstruction and has presented at national dermatologic surgery meetings.

Dr. Kathy Lee, M.D.

Halcyon Dermatology, located in Laguna Hills, CA, was founded by Dr. Kathy Lee. Dr. Kathy Lee attended Washington University in St. Louis, where she earned her undergraduate degree, Master’s degree, and Doctor of Medicine degree. She completed her internship at Indiana University in Indianapolis in Internal Medicine and Dermatology residency. Dr. Lee is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology (Board Certified) and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

She served on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Residency Review Committee for Dermatology as well as the national president of the Asian Pacific American Medical Students’ Association (APAMSA)

Dr. Jeffrey Lander, M.D., PH.D

Dr. Jeffrey Lander specializes in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous (Skin-related) Oncology. He conducts in-office surgery and reconstruction at Halcyon Dermatology. Dr. Lander received a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at UCI before he completed his medical school and dermatology residency at the University of Minnesota. He is also a member of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Academy of Dermatology. 

Kristy Fleming, MD

Dr. Kristy Fleming is a board-certified Dermatologist by the American Board of Dermatology. She is also a Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.

She obtained her Medical Degree from the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Fleming is a professor of dermatology at UCLA and has conducted extensive research with many publications.
