Zacharia Reda, M.D., FAAP, FCCP
Dr. Reda is board certified in pediatrics, hospital medicine, and critical care. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics & American College of Chest Physicians. He’s served the Los Angeles and Orange County region for over 30 years.
Dr. Reda completed his residency at USC and fellowship at UCLA. He served as an Associate Director of Miller Children’s Hospital PICU, Long Beach, St Vincent Cardio-Thoracic PICU. He served as Medical Director of Fountain Valley Regional hospital PICU for 15 years & was voted as a chairman of the pediatric department for four years.
He is on the faculty at Hoag Hospital, Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, Mission, Miller Children Hospital, CHOC, and Saddleback Memorial. Alexander Tu, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician who treats children of all ages at Newport Children’s Medical Group. Dr. Tu has vast experience in both inpatient and outpatient care and has a particular specialty in international and oral health.
Dr. Tu attended Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania, before obtaining his Doctor of Medicine from Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Behrstock attended the University of California at San Francisco, and completed his pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Behrstock has been in pediatric private practice in Hoag Hospital and Costa Mesa surrounding regions for the past 30 years. He has attended over 20 international volunteer medical trips, and written three books. He currently serves as the President of Greater Newport Physicians (GNP), a large IPA in Orange County. He is a physician board member of the Memorial Care Medical Foundation. Also, he actively participates as a patient and physician advocate for quality in the changing face of medicine in America.
Dr. Bette Carlson received her training at Chicago Medical School and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. She has special interests in high-risk newborns, nutrition, critical care, and adolescents. Dr. Carlson started her private practice in 1996 and has enjoyed being an active member of the Hoag Hospital Medical Staff and part of the Pediatric Department ever since. Dr. Carlson is an active member of CHOC Children’s Hospital in Orange County and a physician-member of the Memorial Care Medical Foundation.

Dr. Peri Suzan Gunay attended Harvard, Dartmouth, and Brown Universities and then completed her pediatric training at Northwestern University in 1989. Alison Metherell Mann, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Mann graduated from UCLA with a BA in Economics with an international emphasis. She obtained her M.D. from Tulane University School of Medicine, and Masters of Public Health (MPH) in Tropical Medicine from Tulane School of Public Health.
Dr. Mann finished her Pediatric Internship and Residency at the USC/Keck-Los Angeles County Medical Center. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Mann strives to provide exceptional medical care with compassion and respect for each child and their family.
Dr. Taylor Duffin is a board-certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She graduated Magna cum laude and received her BC in biology from Wofford College, South Carolina. She earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, and then completed her pediatric residency training at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Duffin served as the chief resident and as a clinical faculty at Wake Forest University, North Carolina.

Dr. Kristin Pelinka attended Duke University and UCLA School of Medicine. She completed her medical residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Pelinka then became a staff physician at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach. She has been practicing pediatrics for over a decade. Her medical interests include child development, behavioral issues, special needs children, international medicine, and volunteerism, as her family and she has served for several years at The Painted Turtle Camp, a camp for kids with life-threatening illnesses.
Jeffrey Taylor, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Jeffrey Taylor completed his medical training at the University of California at San Diego and the University of California at Irvine. He began his private practice and has been affiliated with Hoag Hospital Pediatrics since 2001. At Hoag he is currently serving as the Chair of the Department. Dr. Taylor has also held other key leadership roles within Hoag Pediatrics and Greater Newport Physicians (GNP) and is currently a physician-member of Memorial Care Medical Foundation. Newborn care is his favorite aspect of pediatrics.
